On Your 1st Visit

On your initial visit you will complete some basic forms relating to the reason for your visit; this usually takes between 10-15 minutes. Following the completion of the paper work, you will have a one-on-one consultation with the Doctor who will discuss, in detail, the nature of your problem(s) and your Past Medical History. This discussion will be followed by a thorough evaluation of ranges of motion, muscle and neurological testing, and orthopedic testing. Specialized functional testing such as postural analysis, gait analysis, joint and muscle testing may also be utilized to formulate an accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment plan.

Upon completion of the exam, the Doctor will discuss with you the exam findings, provide a diagnosis, and make recommendations for treatment and recovery. If you should need additional testing or evaluation, then that recommendation will be discussed with you as well. If you have had any of these tests recently, please bring the reports with you so that the Doctor may review them prior to treatment.

Most frequently, you will be asked to schedule a follow-up appointment, at which time your treatment will begin. On occasion, when the pain is severe and treatment is urgent, then your treatment will begin immediately after the examination.

Please allow 60 minutes for your first visit. Remember to wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing so that the area of concern can be easily accessible.

What to bring to your first appointment:

  • All related medical records, including diagnostic reports (x-rays, MRI, etc).
  • A valid photo ID and valid Insurance card.
  • A list of current prescriptions and/or over-the-counter medications you are taking.
  • If appropriate and required, bring the referral from your referring physician.
